VHFA recognizes employee volunteers

VHFA is proud to recognize staff who participated in the Employee Volunteer Program (EVP) in 2018.

As part of our mission to finance and promote affordable, safe, and decent housing opportunities, VHFA encourages its employees to lend their voluntary support to programs that positively impact the quality of life within our communities. The Employee Volunteer Program allows all regular VHFA employees one additional day of paid Combined Time Off each calendar year to volunteer in a community program.

You can help Puerto Rico's Caño Martín Peña Community Land Trust

Caño Martín Peña, a sister community land trust to Vermont's own Champlain Housing Trust, needs our help to rebuild the homes it operates for 26,000 lower income San Juan residents.

September's hurricanes have left these homes partly or completely destroyed. Donations will be used to buy construction materials and replace furniture and goods for those who have lost everything.

VHFA helps spread warmth to area children and teens

With the outdoor temperature near zero, VHFA’s Steve Gronlund headed out this afternoon to deliver candy-stuffed gloves, mittens and hats for at least 100 kids to the King Street Center. The Edlund Company partnered with VHFA this year to collect gear donations from staff and friends.

The mitten drive is a much-loved annual tradition that is part of VHFA’s year-long schedule of charitable activities.

Give back by donating new mittens and gloves for Vermont children and teens

Break out your knitting needles (or get shopping) to keep children warm this winter. Drop off new children’s mittens and gloves at VHFA’s office at the corner of Saint Paul and King Streets in Burlington by Friday, December 16.

After stuffing them with holiday goodies, VHFA will deliver the gifts to the King Street Center for children and teens who participate in their programs.
