vt works for women logoResidents of Milton, Shelburne, South Burlington, Richmond  and Williston qualify for a free home energy visit this summer.

The program's being conducted by Vermont Works for Women, in partnership with the Vermont Department of Labor and Efficiency Vermont.

When you schedule an appointment for a visit, a trained youth advocate (aged 16 to 24) will come to your home and:

  • Assess faucets and shower heads for efficiency
  • Install free water-saving faucet aerators and high-pressure efficient shower heads
  • Install free compact fluorescent light bulbs
  • Identify electrical fixtures that waste energy
  • Wrap electric hot water heater tanks and pipes
  • Provide local energy resources and incentive info
  • Provide guidance about saving more energy
