Rick DeAngelis at Vermont Housing & Conservation Board in Montpelier has released more details about the fuel assistance workshop taking place Oct. 1 in Montpelier.

The workshop is for owners and managers of affordable rental housing, and will focus on how those people can assist their very low income residents take advantage of the Vermont Fuel Assistance program.

The agenda will be:

  1. Welcome, overview and introductions (Rick DeAngelis, VHCB)
  2. How the Fuel Assistance Program Works (Richard Moffi, Fuel Assistance Program Chief)
  3. Section 8 and Fuel Assistance (Kathleen Berk, Vermont State Housing Authority)
  4. Developing Resident-Oriented Strategies to Reduce Energy Consumption (Rick DeAngelis and Ariane Kissam, VHCB)
  5. Open Brainstorming/Discussion Session on the topic of fuel assistance and resident-related strategies for reducing energy consumption

The training takes place Wednesday, Oct. 1, from 9 to noon at the 4th floor Board Room at 133 State Street, Montpelier.
