FEMA announced that federal disaster aid has been made available to supplement state and local recovery efforts in Chittenden, Essex, and Lamoille counties for damage caused by severe storms and flooding May 22-26, 2013.

This means that federal funding will be available to state and eligible local governments and certain private nonprofit organizations for emergency work, and repair and replacement of facilities damaged by the severe storms and flooding as well as for hazard mitigation.

Mark H. Landry has been named Federal Coordinating Officer for federal recovery operations in the affected area. Landry said additional designations may be made at a later date if requested by the state and warranted by the results of further damage assessments.
