BFP_Nov_29_2013Vermont’s home values increased and its homeownership rate remained constant since the recession —two unique trends in comparison to other states in New England and the U.S., according to an American Community Survey brief from the Census Bureau released last month and covered recently by Friday's Burlington Free Press

Vermont was among 19 states  that saw home values increase and 9 states that had stable homeownership rates, despite declines in surrounding areas.    The report compared American Community Survey estimates for 2007-2009 with those for 2010-2012.

American Community Survey estimates like these as well as information from other Vermont-specific data sources are available for all Vermont counties and towns on the the Vermont Housing Data Website
