Sixth walking award goes to Pat Loller

pat reaches the beachVHFA Director of Administration Pat Loller received the sixth weekly award in the Agency's walking program.

Pat won a VHFA hat and a Ben & Jerry's gift certificate for being the first to "reach the beach" on the coast of Maine.

VHFA's eight-week walking program encourages staff members to wear Agency-supplied pedometers to count their steps, increase their physical activity and "reach the beach."

Correction: Green Building and Design Standards

This morning we revised our "Green Building and Design Standards" document to correct an editing error.

The new version fixes language in Section 6-R3 "Deconstruction and Construction Waste Management" on page 10. This was the only change.

Fifth walking award goes to Ann-Marie Plank

Ann-Marie won a gift certificate to Healthy Living Natural Foods in South Burlington in a random drawing of all participants who are still on the map.

This past Wednesday, VHFA Public Affairs Manager John Fairbanks joined host Mike McNamara from the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development on "Housing and Communities," a show that airs on public access television station CCTV.

Burlington Co-Housing grand opening

burlington co-housingVHFA Executive Director Sarah Carpenter joined other development and funding partners yesterday at the grand opening of Burlington Co-Housing East Village.

This $8 million mixed-income development represents nearly 15 years of planning and organizing by the Burlington Co-Housing Development LLC.

VHFA provided $6.1 million in construction financing to the 32-unit development.
