Strength of VHFA bonds prompts Moody's to upgrade rating to Aa2

Strong financial performance  contributed to a rating upgrade to Aa2 for VHFA's multiple purpose bonds from Moody's Investors Service last week.  The rating applies to new multiple purpose bonds and all outstanding long-term debt under the multiple purpose bond program.

Business community input on permitting and regulation in Vermont needed

The Vermont Agency of Natural Resources is seeking input from the business community about their experiences with permitting and environmental regulation in Vermont.  Please share your insights at one of the "listening tour" meetings the Agency is holding over the next two weeks at locations around the state. 

HEATHER KVASNAK JOINS VHFA AS MANAGER OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT - HOMEOWNERSHIP

BURLINGTON—Executive Director Sarah Carpenter announced Heather Kvasnak joined the Agency in the position of Manager of Business Development - Homeownership.

Heather has a background in mortgage lending as well as regulatory and compliance requirements .  Her previous positions with Wells Fargo and Bank of America required Heather to conduct trainings for diverse audiences. 

Heather resides in Fairfax, Vermont.

Heather joined the Agency on Friday, February 17th.

Best Practices in Supportive Housing Training Feb. 14

As a part of the ongoing Roadmap to End Homelessness work that VHFA has partially funded through a partnership with the Agency of Human Services, Vermont Housing & Conservation Board and many others, national experts on Supportive Housing will be in Vermont next week to provide a training on best practices.

Housing developers, managers, and advocates are strongly encouraged to attend to learn about the most successful ways of creating affordable housing with necessary supportive services to increase households’ success in living independently after homelessness.

Applications for federal and state housing credits due February 10

Applications for the 2017 round of federal capped (9%) Low-Income Housing Tax Credits and Vermont State Housing Credits are due to VHFA by Friday, February 10, 2017Housing credits are the largest source of funding in Vermont for building and renovating affordable rental housing.
