Due to limited funding, applications for the current round of Vermont COVID Emergency Mortgage Assistance must be submitted by 4:00 PM on Wednesday, June 30, 2021. Until then, eligibility requirements and application instructions will remain available on VHFA’s website at www.vhfa.org/map. All grant awards are subject to funding availability.
Funded by the federal CARES Act, VHFA provided emergency mortgage assistance to over 500 eligible households in May-June 2021 and 636 households in July-November 2020.
Later this year, VHFA will begin offering assistance to Vermont homeowners suffering pandemic economic hardship through the Housing Assistance Fund created by the federal American Rescue Plan. VHFA is currently conducting public meetings to discuss the program and preparing a Housing Assistance Fund program plan.
