Yesterday, the Burlington Housing Authority acquired the Bobbin Mill Apartments. This acquisition preserved 51 Section 8 assisted apartments in Burlington.

Built in 1981,  the Bobbin Mill Apartments offer safe, affordable housing to individuals and families who earn less than 50% of the area median income. Together with Housing Vermont, the Burlington Housing Authority will rehabilitate these units and construct a new community room starting in the summer of 2013.

VHFA provided the acquisition financing using MacArthur Foundation funds for preservation of affordable housing.
