The Vermont Council on Rural Development (VCRD) invites you to join with hundreds of Vermonters at the Summit on the Future of Vermont.
The summit will unveil the findings of the Council on the Future of Vermont’s ubiquitous statewide conversation on the values, goals, and priorities of Vermonters as they look to address the challenges and opportunities ahead.

Champlain Housing Trust (CHT) and King Street Housing celebrate their grand opening this Saturday starting at 10 a.m.
The newly completed building at 88 King Street in Burlington is the new headquarters of CHT. The green building was developed by CHT and Housing Vermont and is also home to 20 apartments.
VHFA allocated $410,000 in Tax Credits to 17 of those units.

Some photos from the press event we held this afternoon to announce Vermont's winning $2.6 million in funding from the MacArthur Foundation.
The event was held at North Branch Apartments in Montpelier and was attended by about 20 people.

VHFA is co-sponsoring a free screening of "Communities & Consequences," an award-winning documentary by Jay Childs.
The film explores the effects of the "graying" demographic of New Hampshire's upper valley, and how an increasingly unbalanced generational mix is affecting life in the state.
It was named "Best New Hampshire Documentary" at the 2008 New Hampshire Film Festival.

Michelle lives in Chelsea, Vt., and is the author of a number of books about parenting, including "Without a Net: Middle Class and Homeless (with Kids) in America," which details her time as a homeless mother of three.

We've just finished tabulating the results of the attendee surveys we received at the end of last week's Vermont Statewide Housing Conference.
The 180 people responding to the survey, just less than half of those who attended, gave the event an overall score of 4/5 stars.

In the week since we distributed log-in credentials to attendees of the Nov. 18 Statewide Housing Conference, approximately 100 people have logged onto the site to access the attendees database and download presentation files.
The "members-only" area of the conference site contains nearly 180 MB of PowerPoint presentation files, as well as some online-only PDFs provided by conference speakers.
