HUD awards Vermont "Door Knocker" awards

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) recognized Vermont with two "Door Knocker" awards for outstanding work in producing affordable housing.

VHFA wins worksite wellness recognition

VHFA received a worksite wellness award from the Vermont Governor's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports.

The award was announced March 29 at the Worksite Wellness Conference at the Sheraton Hotel & Conference Center.

VHFA received the award for the walking and stair climbing programs it implemented last year.

Tim Gutchell honored by Champlain Housing Trust

Champlain Housing Trust (CHT) presented VHFA Controller Tim Gutchell (right) with the Carole Pack Award at its annual meeting a couple weeks ago.

The award recognizes Tim's "leadership and dedicated oversight of the housing trust’s finances through challenging economic times when each dollar was critical."

Green Mountain Habitat for Humanity earns national award

charlotte homeGreen Mountain Habitat for Humanity has been given the Clarence Jordan Award for a home its building in Charlotte.

Habitat for Humanity International honors just two local chapters a year with the award. There are approximately 1,500 local Habitat affiliates nationwide.

Vermont receives kudos from HUD for NSP performance

The State of Vermont received congratulations from the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) last week for meeting the state's obligation and targeting requirements for the Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP).

Vermont received $19.6 million in federal NSP money to fund activities related to the purchase, rehabilitation, or redevelopment of abandoned or foreclosed upon homes.

Housing Vermont honors Stewart, Martinez

Housing Vermont presented two awards at its September meeting of its Board of Directors: Paul Stewart received the Michael M. Richardson Award; Marty Martinez received the Mile Jensen Award.

The Michael M. Richardson Award recognizes outstanding leadership, volunteer commitment, and the contribution of resources that enhance Housing Vermont’s ability to provide permanently affordable housing for Vermonters.

Cathedral Square Corp. wins national award
