Chittenden County Fair Housing Actions Review Meeting

Please join us on Monday, March 18th, from 9-11 AM to review and provide your comments on the fair housing actions in the Draft ECOS Plan (see attached document). These actions came from the Fair Housing and Equity Assessment (FHEA) that can be found here: http://ecosproject.com/sites/default/files/documents/FHEADraft_20130124.pdf. Public Hearing for the 5 Year Chittenden County ECOS Regional Plan

The Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission (CCRPC) and the Greater Burlington Industrial Corporation/CEDS Committee have released the First Public Hearing Draft 2013 Chittenden County ECOS Plan, which combines the Regional Plan, Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP), and the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS). Now is the time to review the plan and send your comments to [email protected].  Pursuant to Title 24 VSA, Chapter 117, 23 CFR Part 450, and 13 CFR 303.6, a 30-day public comment period will conclude with a public hearing on March 20, 2013 at 6pm. This hearing will be streamed live at www.ecosproject.com, and questions/comments during the meeting can be submitted to [email protected]. In order to thoughtfully address your questions and comments in the context of other input, we would appreciate receiving the comments in advance of the hearing. 1. Vermont Nonprofit Conference 2013

2. Resident Service Coordinators Meeting and Workshop

Practical Techniques for Deterring, Diffusing & De-escalating Aggressive Interactions with Loretta Sanford, President of 7 Generations, Inc. This workshop is designed to assist employees in learning the techniques used to deter, diffuse, de-escalate, and effectively manage aggressive behavior and interactions with residents and the public. Property management staff, Resident Service Coordinators, and public service employees are presented with a wide range of situations including families needing urgent assistance, irate customers, political delegations, cultural diversity needs, and threats to public safety. This is a practical skills workshop for balancing communication skills, customer service, and de-escalation and violence prevention skills. Participants will learn how to recognize the need for varied approaches to managing aggressive interactions as well as provide participants with a practical approach to handling and deterring everyday challenges and critical situations encountered in the workplace brought on by aggressive individuals and behaviors.
