Last  week (10/5), the Vermont Housing & Communities Show on CCTV Channel 17’s Live at 5:25 segment featured Jen Hollar of the Vermont DEHCD and was hosted by Mike McNamara of HUD's Vermont office.   They were joined by Deanna Frazier from FEMA and Carl Sherrill of the SBA.    The guests discussed actions taken to date by FEMA and the Irene Housing Task Force, short and long-term housing options, and where and how Vermonters can register for assistance.

The FEMA (800-621-FEMA) number and web site address were scrolled on screen during the entire show.  The state and FEMA are concerned that many Vermonters have not yet registered. The deadline for registering with FEMA is October 31st.

CCTV streamed the show live to all public access cable stations in Vermont.  Some stations aired the show live, but all should have access to the content.  Readers are urged to ask their local access channels to re-run the show as many times as possible before the end of the month, in attempt to spread the word about the importance of registering with FEMA.

The show will be re-run on CCTV on Sunday, October 16 at 5:30 PM and each Monday through the end of the month at 3:00 PM.
