Don Waterman was named VHFA's top originator for Orange County for FY2009.

Bill Bourne has been named top VHFA originator for Lamoille County.
Bill's with Mortgage Financial Inc. in Morrisville.

Susan LaFerriere, a loan originator for Union Bank in St. Johnsbury, has been named VHFA’s top mortgage loan originator in Caledonia, Essex and Orleans counties for 2009.

Vermont Housing Finance Agency is a partner in two of the four projects receiving Smart Growth Awards this evening.
Proctorsville Green Revitalization (top) in Cavendish includes 20 affordable rentals and four affordable townhomes. VHFA provided construction financing and allocated Tax Credits.
The site's on the village green — within walking distance of churches, a school, library, firehouse and several stores — and includes space for the village post office and a yarn and fabric shop.
The Vermont Division for Historic Preservation is taking nominations for its Vermont Downtown Awards.
The awards will be presented as part of the 2009 Vermont Downtown Conference, Friday, Nov. 6, at the Middlebury Inn and Town Hall Theater.
Deadline for nominations is Oct. 1.
Five Chittenden Bank lenders have been named top VHFA originators for fiscal year 2009: Michelle Shambo, Addison County; Debbie Corey, Bennington County; Laurie Laliberte, Rutland County; Cathy Eakins, Windham County; and Barbara Yankee, Windsor County.

Tom Ketteridge has received the 2009 Housing Hero award from Twin Pines Housing Trust in White River Junction.
The award is given to those who have "gone above and beyond normal effort to provide for the basic human need of clean, safe and dignified shelter."
Until recently, Tom was Managing Director of The Upper Valley Haven, a homeless shelter in White River Junction.
He stepped down to work with a broader number of non-profit organizations as a CPA and board member.
