Traveler and author Jan Reynolds visited the Highgate apartment community in Barre this week, thanks to the Children's Literacy Foundation. She described her recent trip to the Himalayan mountains including what it's like to fly in a hot air balloon over Mt. Everest and ski off a 14,000 foot mountain!
Each child was treated to two new books to kick off a summer of learning and curiousity. Resident service coordinator Doug Hemmings of Maloney Properties helped organize the event.
VHFA's Director of Multifamily Programs Sam Falzone was on hand to enjoy the festivities and take photographs. VHFA provided a direct loan and Housing Tax Credits for the initial construction costs at Highgate. VHFA also monitors the project for compliance with HUD requirements.
