Yesterday's Burlington Free Press described the the Howley Foundation's progress in helping to provide safe homes for children in India. The Howley Foundation was started and is led by Brenda Howley, VHFA's Legal Coordinator.
"My mission is to take in children from hopeless situations and give them housing, health care, education and love,” Howley said. “I was moved by what I saw when I visited. There are 15 million people in Kolkata. All you have to do is stand and watch.”
With partner organizations, the Foundation is hosting a Casino Royale fundraiser at the Burlington Boathouse Splash restaurant Oct. 19, at 6-9 pm. For tickets call Elisabeth at 658-5800.
