frisbie & marcellinoLast Tuesday, the Home Builders and Remodelers Association of Northern Vermont (HBRA) held its annual meeting and awards.

Collin Frisbie (top) of Sterling Construction Inc. in South Burlington was named the 2010 T. Wayne Kondor Builder of the Year. Collin joined his father, Bart Frisbie, at the company in 2005. Bart is Vice President, as well as a VHFA Commissioner.

The association developed the award to highlight a builder member who's involved in the association, as well as the community.

Bob Marcellino (bottom), co-founder of Homestead Design, posthumously received the Lifetime Achievement Award. Bob passed away last month.

Bob had been an active member of the association since 1975, and served on the state’s Housing Council with VHFA Executive Director Sarah Carpenter for years. VHFA has worked with his company on several affordable housing projects throughout Northern Vermont.

In 2002, Homestead Design was honored with the Builder of the Year award.

HBRA started its awards program in 1977. It's one of the association's largest events of the year — with winning entries in more than 20 building categories.

VHFA sponsored the award for Best Single Family Home Under 2,000 Square Feet. That prize went to Montpelier Construction.
