Multi-Family Building and Design Analysis Specialist

Vermont Housing Finance Agency (VHFA) is recruiting a new Multi-Family Building and Design Analysis Specialist. Formed in 1974, VHFA’s mission is to finance and promote affordable, safe, and decent housing opportunities for low- and moderate-income Vermonters.  

As the Building and Design Analyst you will support VHFA’s Asset Management and Compliance and Development teams in ensuring compliance with state, federal, and best practices for building standards. Responsible for completing comprehensive property inspections of VHFA’s existing and occupied properties, this position will ensure proper ongoing maintenance and condition of projects, and assess them for any needed repairs, safety upgrades, or capital improvements. It will also provide technical assistance to multifamily projects in need of rehabilitation and inspect properties to HUD standards. Oversee the design review and ongoing construction for new projects and are responsible for establishing and maintaining policies.

A minimum of 4-7 years of construction-related experience is desired. Two years' supervisory experience is required. It will be important for this position to stay up to date on Vermont building and design standards/codes and other regulations to ensure VHFA’s current and future portfolio is complying with standards. High-level proficiency in Microsoft Office products is required. Strong spreadsheet and word processing skills are required.
