Taking place shortly after the midterm and statewide elections, the conference will help answer your questions about how election results will affect housing in Vermont. A legislative breakfast reception will facilitate networking with state legislators as well as staff from the offices of Vermont's federal legislators. Later, keynote speaker Sara Bronin, the founder of DesegregateCT, will describe the movement toward a National Zoning Atlas and Washington insider Jennifer Schwartz from the National Council of State Housing Agency will discuss the rising costs of housing development and federal opportunities during the lame duck session in an afternoon break-out session.

The theme of the 2022 Statewide Housing Conference is "What YOU can do to help solve the housing crisis."  By bringing Vermonters with common goals but access to different types of levers affecting housing affordability together, conference planners are seeking to maximize its impact.

With vacancy rates near zero and home prices rising even faster than in prior years, many Vermont communities and residents are looking for ways to help. In response, the conference will feature strategies to connect attendees with the information, people and tools they need to tackle tough housing problems. Conference attendees will learn how to avoid "recreating the wheel" and to collaborate effectively through goal setting and by engaging with others who have access to needed resources and information.

Throughout the day, Kerry Secrest of Watershed Coaching and other conference speakers will offer tools to help participants make the most of their conference experience and turn inspiration into action. Check out the conference agenda to learn more and register.
