Tom Connors and Rick Jean retire from VHFA

VHFA honored Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Tom Connors and Information Technology (IT) Director Rick Jean for their many years of service as they retire from the Agency this month.

Tom Connors served as VHFA’s CFO since 2006. Prior that, he worked at Trak Sports USA and IDX. In addition to his work at VHFA, Connors has served on the Boards of the Energy Co-op of Vermont and ReSource, and has taught courses on finance and accounting at Champlain College and Community College of Vermont. He is a graduate of Saint Michael’s College and Bentley University.

Eric Hoffman joins VHFA as Manager of Business Development – Homeownership

Executive Director Maura Collins announced that Vermont Housing Finance Agency (VHFA) has selected Eric Hoffman of Essex Junction as its new Manager of Business Development – Homeownership.

Chris Flannery joins VHFA as Chief Financial Officer

Executive Director Maura Collins announced that Vermont Housing Finance Agency (VHFA) has selected Chris Flannery  as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO), following an extensive national search. Flannery comes to VHFA from Oak Ridge Financial in Minneapolis, where he served as Managing Director, Structured Finance.

VHFA unveils new paid parental leave policy

Vermont Housing Finance Agency (VHFA) is proud to announce that it will expand its parental leave policy to offer six weeks of fully paid parental leave for its employees, effective immediately.

Vermont Housing Finance Agency (VHFA) is seeking a Manager of Business Development for its Homeownership programs. This position is responsible for developing, implementing and promoting Homeownership loan programs and services, working closely with our network of participating lenders, real estate professionals, home building organizations, housing non-profits, consumers, and other state housing partners. 

Dave Chien joins VHFA as IT Director

Executive Director Maura Collins announced that Vermont Housing Finance Agency (VHFA) has hired Dave Chien of Williston as its new Director of Information Technology (IT).

Chien comes to VHFA from Vermont Legal Aid, where he worked for the past 12 years, most recently as their Senior IT Administrator. He is a graduate of Stony Brook University and the University of Buffalo.

 “We selected Dave from a pool of over 150 applicants for this position,” Collins remarked. “Dave’s experience in nonprofit IT will be a valuable asset to the Agency as we pursue new initiatives.”

VHFA launches car sharing initiative

VHFA recently began partnering with CarShare Vermont to offer its staff access to shared vehicles for business travel. This initiative will allow the Agency to reduce its carbon footprint while making travel more convenient and more affordable for its staff.

VHFA welcomes two new Development Underwriters

Executive Director Maura Collins announced that Vermont Housing Finance Agency (VHFA) has hired Megan Roush of Northfield and Bill Schrecker of Burlington as Development Underwriters.

Roush comes to VHFA from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development, where she served the past four years as a Vermont Housing Loan Specialist and Public Information Officer. Roush is a graduate of Saint Michael’s College.

Vermont Housing Finance Agency (VHFA) is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This position is responsible for the direction, management and oversight of the financial, accounting, audit, Information Technology (IT) and investment areas of VHFA. The CFO oversees the development and implementation of financing structures that support the Agency’s loan programs, including the sale and management of VHFA tax-exempt and taxable bonds.
