The State of Vermont’s Department of Economic, Housing and Community Development (DEHCD) will conduct a public hearing to receive comments on its proposed HUD Consolidated Plan 2011 Action Plan.

The hearing will take place Friday, March 25, from 2-3 p.m. in the Calvin Coolidge Room, at the National Life Building North Lobby, Sixth Floor, Montpelier.

The plan constitutes the State’s application for, and outlines priorities for use of, approximately $12 million in Federal funding provided annually to the State for the Community Development Block Grants (CBDG), Home Investment Partnerships (HOME), and Emergency Shelter Grants (ESG). The goals of the plan are to provide decent housing, assure a suitable living environment, and expand economic opportunities for Vermont’s citizens.

Written comments on the proposed plan will be accepted until 4:30 p.m. on Monday, April 25, and should be addressed to: Arthur Hamlin, DEHCD, National Life Building — 6th Floor, 1 National Life Dr., Montpelier, VT 05620-0501; or emailed to [email protected].

The proposed plan is available on the DEHCD website and upon request at the DEHCD offices at the National Life Building North Lobby, Sixth Floor, Montpelier.

The hearing room is handicapped accessible.  Accommodations for persons with disabilities, and interpreters to meet the needs of non-English speaking persons will be made available upon request.
