Neighborworks of Western Vermont was awarded $25,000 to provide counseling to families and individuals facing the threat of foreclosure. NeighborWorks America announced the awards in late March as a part of its $73.8 million National Foreclosure Mitigation Counseling (NFMC) Program.

This was the sixth round of funding for the NFMC program. Neighborworks of Western Vermont has received funding in all but one of the rounds funded, and several other Homeownership Centers across the state have also been awarded funding in the past.
