The two "housing heroes" who will receive awards at next week's Vermont Statewide Housing Conference  were announced today.

Governor Madeliene Kunin will receive an award for her commitment as Vermont's chief executive to affordable housing when the federal government's support declined in the 1980s.  Governor Kunin will be signing copies of her newest book, The New Feminist Agenda, during the reception at the conference, starting at 4:30 that day.

The other award will go to Shaun Gilpin and the Mobile Home Program for tireless coordination and work with mobile home residents in the aftermath of Tropical Storm Irene.

Registration for the conference has been extended until 5 pm on Wednesday, November 7th.  Register online today for the opportunity to celebrate Vermont's housing heroes and to participate in the day's exciting line-up of workshops, plenary panel, keynote speaker, and networking opportunities.

The conference will be held Thursday, November 15th, at the Hilton in Burlington. At the last conference, in 2010, we reached capacity and had to turn people away, so register today!
