BURLINGTON—Executive Director Sarah Carpenter announced that Michelle Packard of Burlington has joined Vermont Housing Finance Agency (VHFA) as Financial Analyst. Packard has been working in the Agency’s Homeownership Department on a temporary basis for two months. Before that she spent nearly two decades as Treasurer for Summit Financial Center, a Burlington mortgage company. “We’re pleased to welcome Michelle as a full-time employee,” says Carpenter. “She’s impressed us over the last couple months with her hard work and attention to detail in the Homeownership Department, and we’re confident she’ll be a great addition to the Agency’s Finance Department.” Packard holds a B.A. in Business Economics earned at the University of California at Santa Barbara. VHFA was created by the Vermont Legislature in 1974 to finance and promote affordable housing opportunities for low- and moderate-income Vermonters. Since its inception, the Agency has helped approximately 26,000 Vermont households with affordable mortgages and financed the development of 7,400 affordable rental units.
